Fish In Tomato Sauce


Ingredients

For fish

500 gms Fish
1/2 tsp Lemon juice
1 Green Chili
1 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Salt
1" Piece Ginger
2-3 Button onions

For tomato sauce

200 gms Tomatoes
2-3 Cloves Garlic
1 tsp Vinegar
1 tsp Butter
Salt to taste
20 gms Onion
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Corn-flour
1/2 tsp Red chili powder

For Garnishing

Few Coriander leaves

Preparation for tomato sauce

Slice onion, tomato, and garlic. Add salt and a cup of water and cook till soft.
Grind well in a grinder and sieve through a strainer to get a thick puree. Heat butter, add red chili powder and tomato puree. Dissolve corn-flour in one tsp of water and add to tomato puree. Cook while stirring. Add sugar and vinegar. Simmer till sauce gets thick.

Method for cooking fish

Clean and wash the fish and cut into 2" pieces. Rub salt and lemon juice and leave for half an hour. Wash and dry the fish. Heat oil and fry button onions and fish separately. Combine fish, sliced ginger, green chili, button onion, tomato sauce, salt and chili powder. Simmer till fish is tender and sauce mixes with it well. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
