Ingredients
1/2 cup unbleached white flour
2-4 tablespoons nutritional yest
2 tablespoons canola or soybean oil
4 cups soy-milk or 2 cups soy-milk
2 cups water or stock
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 teaspoons poultry seasoning
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
How to prepare
Stove-top Method: Toast the flour and nutritional yeast in the oil until it starts to brown. Whip in the soy-milk gradually, leaving no lumps. Whip in the soy sauce, poultry seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper. Heat until it thickens and just starts to boil.
Microwave Method: In a 2 - quart glass measuring cup, whip together all the ingredients (leaving out the oil if you like). Microwave on high for four minutes. Whip until smooth and microwave on high for four minutes. Whip and serve.
