Dal Bhaat

For garnishing:
1 tablespoon onion (chopped and fried)

Clean and wash lentils. Add salt, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water to it and cook on a low flame until soft and mushy. Heat oil in a frying pan fry ginger, garlic, green chillies, whole dry chillies and cumin seeds. As soon as seeds sizzle, and ginger-garlic turns pink in colour. Pour into lentils. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle gram Masala on top and serve hot garnished with fried onions.
